About: Bidens pilosa is considered an invasive plant, actively colonizing disturbed land. It is a native of North and South America, but found in Eurasia, Africa, Australia and the Pacific Islands. This plant definitely gets around! Bidens is a mucous membrane tonic, a support for the prostate and an herb that can be used with systemic infections that are accompanied by problems in the mucous membranes anywhere in the body.

Though we originally sourced this invasive “weed” from a wildcrafter in Florida, two of our local growers are finding that the Bidens pilosa also thrives in the chilly Northeast. Last year’s crop was prolific! We process the bright, fresh leaves and lovely white flowers into a rich green extract.
